The M18 road infrastructure in the Guzape District of Abuja has been christened in honour of the well-known novelist Chinua Achebe by President Bola Tinubu.

Olusegun Dada, President Tinubu’s Special Assistant, revealed this in a social media post.

He wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissions the M18 road infrastructure in the Guzape District of Abuja. Names road after Nigerian novelist and poet, late Professor Chinua Achebe.”

Achebe was a Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic who is regarded as a central figure of modern African literature.

His first novel, ‘Things Fall Apart,’ occupies a pivotal place in African literature and remains the most widely studied, translated, and read African novel.

Along with Things Fall Apart, No Longer at Ease and Arrow of God he completes the “African Trilogy.”.

In the West, he is often referred to as the “father of African literature,”  although he vigorously rejected the characterization.

The renowned author died on March 21, 203.
