The Tinubu Campaign Organisation (TCO) has congratulated the distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Edo State gubernatorial candidate.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Mr Joshua Ilevbare, TCO national coordinator, he said that Senator Okpebholo got the overwhelming endorsement of the party delegates because they recognized his love, genuine concern and commitment to people’s wellbeing and effective governance in line with the principles of the APC.

Mr Joshua Ilevbare remarked, “The landmark acceptance and endorsement by a majority of party delegates as the flag bearer of our great party across the entire 18 local governments of Edo State is a clear indication of your eloquent credibility and competence to meet the demands and desires of the good people of the state.”

He further stated that the emergence of the distinguished Senator with the popular votes at the APC governorship primaries held on 22nd February 2024 against all odds over the elite’s preferred candidate was a victory for democracy and conquest of political godfatherism in Edo state politics.

While expressing his satisfaction with the conduct of the primary election, he noted that the outcome of the primaries was a reassurance that APC had fast become a highly conflict-sensitive political party consciously getting rid of political gangsterism.

The TCO co-ordinator commended the party leader for making the primaries hitch-free, he said, “We want to say a big thank you to the father of modern democracy in Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC national chairman and all members of the National Working Committee (NWC) for your prompt intervention.”

The political group advised Senator Monday Okpebholo to offer charismatic, visionary and exemplary leadership and people-oriented governance for the restoration of hope to the good people of Edo State, adding, “We implore you to embrace the democratic principle of zoning in selecting members of your cabinet when you assume office come September 2024 by the grace of God.”

Ilevbare appealed to the people of Edo State to give Okpebholo, a trusted, tested illustrious son of Edo state, their mandate at the polls to steer the ship of state for a brighter and prosperous future.
