President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, commending his long-standing service to Nigeria and Rivers State.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, presidential media aide, Tinubu described Amaechi as a “dedicated public servant” who played key roles in shaping the nation’s democratic and infrastructural progress.
Amaechi’s political career spans decades, beginning as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, followed by two terms as Governor of Rivers State.
He also served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and later, as Minister of Transportation under President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years.
“Rotimi Amaechi’s commitment to public service and national development remains remarkable,” the President stated, adding a prayer for “more years and divine grace” for the influential politician.
Amaechi, a central figure in Nigeria’s contemporary political landscape, is regarded as one of the country’s most resilient and outspoken leaders.
