Masked thugs invaded some polling units in Ward D, Igando/Ikotun, Lagos State, on Saturday and chased away voters in line.

Hooligans with sticks and knives chased voters away from polling stations at Ijegun Community School.

    The polling places are 096, 116, 281, 094, 095, and 084.

According to a journalist who monitored the elections in the area, the thugs arrived at the polling stations on motorcycles.

They chased them from one polling unit to the next.

Some voters were forced to jump the school’s fence for safety as a result of the attack.

The hooligans also assaulted a woman who attempted to photograph them at Polling Unit 227, located at Awonisi Gate on Ijegamo Road.

They allegedly took her phones and her automated teller machine cards.

They also beat up and wounded a man who attempted to challenge them.

The voters, including accredited ones, did not return to the polling units at press time even after the thugs left.
