The Director General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu has confirmed the death of the third victim and initial only survivor of the Opebi helicopter crash in Lagos state.
According to Oke-Osanyintolu, efforts were made to save the life of the victim, who sustained severe injuries following the crash on Friday afternoon.
He explained that he died at the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state had earlier commiserated with families, friends and associates of the victims of the helicopter crash in Opebi, Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu promised that his government would work with all the relevant Federal Government agencies to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the accident so as to prevent a reoccurrence in the future.
The governor advised residents of Opebi and its surrounding to go about their business peacefully saying, “there is nothing to fear as men and officers of the State emergency services were promptly deployed to the scene of the crash and they had brought everything under control.
“The environment is also safe and secure,” the governor added.
