Award-winning Nigerian cinematographer and music producer, ThankGod Omori, popularly called TG Omori, announced on Friday that he has been recuperating from the stitches of his failed kidney transplant.
TG Omori stated that although he cannot express his gratitude to God with a backflip, he is getting better and will continue the fight.
While appreciating the outpouring of love from his fans, he expressed his eagerness to bounce back and produce new music videos to delight his supporters.
In a statement on his X account on Friday, Omori wrote, “Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes.
“I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one; I’ll continue the fight. I’ve been on it for the past year or two, and I can’t back down now.
“I love you all so much. I can’t wait to create new, crowded music videos for you all.”
Chronicle NG reported that the music producer had a failed kidney transplant after his brother donated a kidney to improve his condition related to a kidney ailment.
Omori announced this on Wednesday, shortly after disclosing that he was going through a difficult time, and asked Nigerians to pray for him.
He wrote, “One year after my kidney failed, I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicolas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me.”
The cinematographer also stated that he had been to the theatre three times before and that he was not meant to die. TG Omori also described how his brother donated his kidney to him in order to help him survive his kidney disease.
Omori revealed this on Wednesday when he posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed to his Instagram account.
According to him, his only sibling gave one of his kidneys to offer him a second opportunity in life.
“Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again.
“Keep my spirit alive. I don’t want to die.”
