Terrorists have threatened to marry off a bride and 62 other women who were kidnapped on Thursday in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Chronicle NG reports that the bride and 62 wedding guests who were escorting her home along the Damari town of Katsina State’s Sabuwa Local Government Area were kidnapped by terrorists.

However, in a recent development, a video making the rounds on social media showed the bandits threatening to marry off all the abductees, including the bride, if ransom is not paid.

The women, clad in hijab, could be seen and heard begging for assistance and help in Hausa.

“Help us, help us, please,” they chorosed. “Our relatives should bring money to release us.

They added that “the government alone cannot come to our aid.”

At the time of filing this report, the Kastina State Police Command has yet to comment on the now viral video.
