Nigeria’s Senate President Bukola Saraki says the creation of State Police is the solution to the persistent security challenges.
Saraki on Wednesday told the senate that the security challenges faced in Zamfara and other state will be properly combated if the Federal Government decides to create State Police.
In his remarks after Senator Kabiru Marafa had made a case for a N10 billion intervention fund as part of the 2019 budget for assistance of victims of banditry in Zamfara, Senator Saraki said urgent steps must be taken to secure lives and property.

The Senate President said until Nigeria began to look at the possibility of establishing State Police, the country would continue to have security challenges.
He expressed concern at the turn of events in Zamfara, saying the state used to be very peaceful.
Saraki charged relevant authorities not to rest on their oars in nipping the crisis in the bud.
