Mrs Sunday who was arrested by the police for conspiracy to kidnap her husband in Akwa Ibom, said her husband also failed to take responsibility for their kids.
She and her accomplice demanded an initial ransom of N10 million but reduced it to N2 million which was eventually paid to them.
They were however arrested by the police when they were sharing the proceeds of their crime.
She was paraded along with 29 others for various offences including kidnapping, robbery and child theft.
Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, in Uyo, the state capital said all the culprits would be prosecuted.
Speaking on her role, Mrs Sunday said she was undertaking menial jobs to fend for herself and the children since her husband married a second wife.
She added that when one of her children completed secondary school there was no money for him to further his studies.
“I arranged my husband’s kidnapping because he abandoned me and his children. Even when my father and mother in-law were alive he abandoned me. He never cared for his children. I did a menial jobs such as weeding people’s farms to feed my children and pay their school fees.
She added that, “One of the children completed secondary school and I approached my husband to plan how to send him to a vocational school since he refused to send him to university but he shunned me. The major reason I arranged his kidnap was because he refused to have sex with me and does not take care of me and the children.”
She noted that she was yet to receive her share of the money when the police arrested her.
