Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed Dagogo Iboroma as the Rivers State Attorney General (AG) and Commissioner for Justice.
Recall that the office became vacant about two weeks ago following the redeployment of the former occupant, Zacchaeus Adangor, to another ministry by the Governor of Rivers State.
Adangor, a loyalist to the ex-governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, however, resigned from the cabinet in protest.
Governor Fubara’s loyal faction in the Rivers State House of Assembly invited Dagogo Iboroma, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), for screening and confirmation as a member of the State Executive Council (SEC).
Dr. G.M. Gillis-Harry, the House’s Clerk, issued a statement in Port Harcourt on Sunday night, directing the Senior Lawyer to appear before the legislators this Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Admin Block, Government House, Port Harcourt.
As more political drama unfolded in the oil-rich state, it was clear that Iboroma was best to replace Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, former Rivers AG.
