The Zamfara State police command has revealed that over one hundres kidnapped victims have regained their freedom from the dens of kidnappers ravaging the State.

Addressing newsmen at the Police headquarters in Gusau, the State capital, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hussaini Rabiu said that the bandits were arrested after fierce gun battles with the police.

According to him, the Police in the State would use kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to end the terror attacks ravaging the State.

He stated that in collaboration with the State Ministry for Security and Home Affairs, the police has successfully secured the unconditional release of one hundred kidnapped victims who were abducted from Manawa village of Mutunji District in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area of the state.

It could be recalled that on the 8th of June, 2021 some recalcitrant bandits stormed Manawa village and abducted 100 villagers including women (who were mostly nursing mothers), men, and children.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hussaini Rabiu, however, warned the recalcitrant bandits to renounce criminalities and embrace peace or face the full wrath of the law.

“The Command uses this medium to call on the good people of Zamfara State to support the police and other security agencies with credible information about the hideouts, movements and other activities of criminal elements.”
