Olumide Oyewole, a 28-year-old man, has been arrested by men of the police force for robbing and raping a lady at her Lekki apartment in Lagos.

The suspect, clad in a mask, allegedly forced his way into the victim’s residence and tied her legs before raping her.

After raping the victim, the suspect made off with her belongings, which included an iPhone 12 Pro, a Samsung S9 Plus, a little Nokia phone, two bottles of perfume, two wristwatches, one necklace, one iPhone charger, and $10,000 (approximately N4 million).

Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the police, along with the victim, simply named Cynthia, arrested the offender and brought him to the station.

Narrating the incident, Hundeyin stated that “the lady reported to the police that at about 8 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023, she was in her room when she heard a knock on her door. When she opened the door, the suspect forced himself into her room, wielding a knife with his face masked.
