Officers of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad, during a patrol on the Gbagada-Oshodi Motorway on Wednesday, apprehended a hard drug dealer.
Victor Aghalise, 27, who was distributing a substance thought to be Arizona to motorists, was arrested by the command’s operatives.
This was revealed in a Thursday post on the RRS’s official X handle. RRS reported that 93 wraps of Arizona were recovered from Aghalise’s bag.
Further police investigations led to the arrest of one Ifeanyi Erem, 60, who also admitted to giving the chemical to Aghalise for sale near the Ilupeju end of the Gbagada-Oshodi Motorway in Lagos.
Erem’s pocket also had seven packages of Arizona.
CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the RRS Commander, ordered that the suspects be tried immediately in court.
He also cautioned hard drug peddlers and motorists who patronized them that if they were apprehended anywhere in the state, they would face prosecution.
