The Nigeria police have arrested three members of an armed robbery and kidnap gang, including Aisha Bature, 23, the wife of their leader.

Some weapons were also revered from them, the police said.

Others members of the gang arrested in Zaria, Kaduna state, on Wednesday are Nuhu Fulani, 32 and Yahaya Muhammed, 26,

They were arrested by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Inspector General of Police.

A statement by Mr. Jimoh Moshood, the Force Public Relations Officer, said that members of the gang have been on the wanted list for some time now.

In the course of investigation, the suspects admitted to some kidnappings and robberies along Zaria-Kaduna expressway, he said.

The police recovered a fully loaded AK-47 rifle from a toilet in Aisha Bature’s house.

The suspects, he said, have confessed to the roles they played in the crimes traced to them.

They have also been identified by some of their victims, he said.

Meanwhile, the police are in the trail of the other members of the gang still at large.

All the suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.

Items recovered from them included one AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, 30 rounds of live ammunition, Samsung S6 phone belonging to their last victim as well as some charms.
