Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, is currently in Daura, Katsina State, to express his condolences to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obi was observed at Buhari’s Daura home on Wednesday, one day after the former president was laid to rest.
Buhari was buried in Daura on Tuesday, according to Islamic rituals, capping off a sad national farewell to a man who previously led Nigeria as both a military head of state and a democratically elected president.
His remains were interred at 5:50 p.m., following a funeral prayer delivered by Sheikh Salisu Rabiu, Imam of the Central Mosque of Daura.
In a final display of military honour, Army generals and service chiefs escorted Buhari’s coffin to the graveside, where a 21-gun salute resonated around Daura, marking the end of his public life.
