Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the lead pastor of the Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has been released from the custody of the Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
Chronicle NG reports that the clergy was arrested by the FCID in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for alleged N1.5 billion fraud.
It was gathered that the police operatives from the FCID grilled Idowu in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Tuesday.
A top police source at the FCID revealed that Idowu would be sleeping over in the police cell for the alleged crime.
“The case emanated from one of his pastors who duped several people in a real estate scheme,” one of the top sources revealed.
However, the pastor was reportedly released in the late hours of Tuesday.
The police investigation revealed that several funds in the scheme were traced first to Bolaji’s church account and later to his personal account.
