Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District has disclosed that no funds were released for 2018 Constituency Projects by the Federal Government.

Sani made the staggering disclosure on Saturday when reacting to inquiry by transparency agency, Tracka.

Tracka had demanded that the senator account for the N380 million nominated for six projects in 2018.

“Dear Sen @ShehuSani, we are aware you nominated N380m zonal intervention projects in 2018 budget for Kaduna Central Senatorial District. What is the implementation status of these projects? Public funds must work for the people,” Tracka tweeted.

In response to Tracka’s inquiry, the senator tweeted, “No funds has been released to those responsible for the implementation of any of the project in the paper budget for the whole of 2018. Thank you,” he tweeted.

It would be recalled that Senator Shehu Sani has been accused of inserting an already completed healthcare facility into his 2018 Constituency Projects.

The healthcare facility was completed in 2017 but was again included in his 2018 budget.

The transparency agency has consistently encouraged electorate to engage their representatives in the 8th Assembly on how monies awarded for projects are being spent.
