A Nigerian man, simply identified as Chukwuma, has been apprehended by Bengaluru’s Central Crime Branch in India for alleged drug peddling.
Chukuwuma was nabbed during a raid while trying to distribute narcotics in the Avalahalli area of northern Bengaluru, the India Today reported on Tuesday.
The Narcotics Wing of the CCB carried out a swift, well-planned operation and seized MDMA and crystal substances worth over ₹1.2 crore from the suspect.
Early investigations disclosed that Chukwuma has been dealing in drugs since 2013.
According to investigators, the suspect has been in the drug business since 2013, importing narcotics from abroad and distributing them across Bengaluru and its outskirts.
Police revealed he was linked to an international drug syndicate.
The police disclosed that he had been under surveillance for weeks before his arrest.
According to the police, authorities are now working to uncover the full network and arrest others involved as the suspect is currently in custody and under interrogation.
