    Nigeria announces 661 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 661 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday.

    The 661 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 19808.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 137 patients from isolation centers across the country with 19 new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 230 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 8407.

    • Nigeria announces 667 new coronavirus cases

    Rivers state recorded 127 new cases, Delta recorded 83 new cases while the Federal Capital Territory reported 60, Oyo reported 51 and Edo 31.

    Other states are Bayelsa-27, Kaduna-25, Plateau-13, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-3, Ekiti-2, Kano-2 and Borno-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 19808 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 6718 discharged and 506 deaths.
