    Nigeria announces 562 new coronavirus case

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 562 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Monday.

    The 562 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 37225.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 228 patients from isolation centers across the country with 12 new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 100 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 13538.

    But it was the Federal Capital Territory that recorded the highest number of cases for the day with 102 cases.

    Plateau recorded 52 new cases, Kwara reported 50 new cases while Abia, Kaduna and Benue recorded 47, 35 and 34 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Oyo-26, Ebonyi-24, Kano-16, Niger-15, Anambra-14, Gombe-12, Edo-11, Rivers-6, Nasarawa-5, Delta-5, Borno-3, Enugu- 2, Bauchi-2 and Kebbi- 1.

    NCDC reports that there are 37225 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 15333 discharged and 801 deaths.
