    Nigeria announces 499 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 499 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday.

    The 499 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 30748.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 173 patients from isolation centers across the country with four new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 157 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 11827.

    • Nigeria announces 460 new coronavirus cases

    Edo state recorded 59 new cases, Ondo reported 56 new cases while Oyo, Akwa Ibom, and Borno recorded 31, 22 and 21 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Plateau-19, Kaduna-18, Katsina-18, Bayelsa-17, FCT-17, Delta-14, Kano-11, Rivers-10, Enugu-8, Ogun-6, Kwara-4, Imo-3, Nasarawa-2, Osun-2, Abia-1, Ekiti-1, Niger-1 and Yobe-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 30748 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 12546 discharged and 684 deaths.
