    Nigeria announces 462 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 462 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.

    The 462 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 43151.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 295 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 78 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 15121.

    But it was the Federal Capital Territory that recorded the single highest number of cases for the day with 93 new cases.

    Plateau state recorded 64 new cases, Kaduna reported 54 new cases while Oyo, Ondo and Adamawa recorded 47, 32 and 23 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Bauchi-19, Rivers-9, Ogun-9, Delta-9, Edo-7, Kano-6, Enugu-6, Nasarawa-5 and Osun-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 43151 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 19565 discharged and 879 deaths.
