    Nigeria announces 340 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 340 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.

    The 340 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 51,304.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 316 patients from isolation centers across the country with four new deaths reported.

    Kaduna recorded the highest number of cases with 63 while the Federal Capital Territory reported 51 and Plateau state recorded 38 cases.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 33 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 17360.

    • Nigeria announces 476 new coronavirus cases

    Delta state 25 new cases, Gombe recorded 21 new cases while Adamawa, Edo and Katsina recorded 21, 20 and 17 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Akwa Ibom-11, Ekiti-10, Rivers-9, Ondo-5, Ebonyi-4, Cross River-3, Ogun-3, Sokoto-2, Imo-2 and Nasarawa-2.

    NCDC reports that there are 51,304 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 37,885 discharged and 996 deaths.
