    FLASH: Nigeria announces 338 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 338 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday.

    The 338 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 5959.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 122 patients from isolation centers across the country and six deaths were also reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with a whooping 177 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 2550.

    “Sixty-four new cases were reported in Kano and 21 in the Federal Capital Territory.

    “16-Rivers, 14-Plateau, 11-Oyo, 9-Katsina, 4-Jigawa, 4-Kaduna, 3-Abia, 3-Bauchi, 3-Borno, 2-Gombe, 2-Akwa Ibom, 2-Delta, 1-Ondo, 1-Kebbi and 1-Sokoto.

    According to the NCDC, there are 5959 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 1594 patients discharged and 182 deaths.
