    FLASH: Nigeria announces 226 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 226 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday.

    The 226 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 6401.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 90 patients from isolation centers across the country and one death were also reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with a whooping 131 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 2755.

    Twenty five new cases were reported in Ogun, 15 in Plateau and 11 in Edo.

    Others are 7-Kaduna, 6-Oyo, 5-FCT, 5-Adamawa, 4-Jigawa, 4-Ebonyi, 4-Borno, 3-Nasarawa, 2-Bauchi, 2-Gombe, 1-Enugu and 1-Bayelsa.

    NCDC reports that there are 6401 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 1734 discharged and 192 deaths.
