    Nigeria announces 1598 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,598 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday.

    The 1,598 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 108,943.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 832 patients from isolation centers across the country with seven new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 461 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 39,723.

    • Nigeria announces 1479 new coronavirus cases

    Federal Capital Territory recorded 206 new cases, Plateau state recorded 197, Rivers reported 168, Kaduna had 116 while Anambra state reported 53 new cases.

    Other states are Ogun-49, Ebonyi-47, Edo-42, Sokoto-32, Imo-31, Katsina-31, Oyo-30, Akwa Ibom-27, Delta-16, Kano-16, Abia-15, Niger-15, Ondo-11, Bayelsa-10, Borno-9, Kebbi-8, Ekiti-7 and Jigawa-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 108,943 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 85,367 discharged and 1,420 deaths.
