Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his support for former US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza during a speech on Sunday.
Speaking to Jewish American organizations in Jerusalem, Netanyahu emphasized that Palestinians should be given the option to leave Gaza voluntarily, without any forceful eviction.
“Give them a choice. Not forcible eviction. Not ethnic cleansing,” he stated.
Trump’s controversial proposal to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, including moving them to Egypt and Jordan, has faced widespread condemnation, with critics arguing that it amounts to ethnic cleansing.
Trump has previously expressed his vision for the US to take control of Gaza and transform it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
In related developments, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Netanyahu in Israel to discuss the ongoing situation.
