President Of The Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has announced the names of the majority and minority leaders of the Tenth Senate.
Akpabio announced this during Tuesday’s session at the upper legislative chamber.
Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele, representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, is the new Senate Majority Leader of the 10th Senate. Sen. David Umahi, representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District, is the Deputy Majority Leader.

According to the announcement, Sen. Mohammed Ali Ndume is the Senate Majority Whip, while Sen. Lola Ashiru, who represents Kwara South Senatorial District, will serve as the Deputy Majority Whip.
Furthermore, the Minority Leadership of the 10th Senate announced Sen. Simon Mwadko as the Senate Minority Leader and Sen. Oyewumi Olalere as the new Senate Deputy Minority Leader.
For the minority whip position, Sen. Darlington Nwokocha, who represents Abia senatorial Central Zone, is the new Senate Minority Whip, while Sen. Rufai Hanga is the Senate Deputy Minority Whip.
At the time of filing this report, Akpabio had yet to announce the chairmen of various committees of the Tenth Senate.
