Two Kano state indigenes have reportedly been killed by an irate mob in the Agan community, Makurdi, Benue State.
The victims, who were travellers hauling products to the eastern part of the country, were attacked and killed at 11 p.m. on Monday after parking their truck to purchase a recharge card, according to a security source.
“They parked in the Agan community to get a recharge card when some youths attacked and killed them,” the source said.
This development comes barely a week after an irate mob killed no fewer than 12 travellers in the Mangun area of the Mangu local government area in Plateau State.
The travellers, according to reports, were wedding guests from Zaria, Kaduna State, who were heading to Qua’n Pan Local Government Area in Plateau State for a wedding fitiha.
The unsuspecting travellers were attacked by the irate mob when they asked for direction after missing their way.
The 18-seater bus conveying the 32 passengers, women and children included, was burnt by the mob with some passengers inside.
According to the police, 22 suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident which sparked nationwide condemnation.
