    An arms dealer has been arrested with 320 bullets and 53 magazines in Nasarawa state on his way to Jos, Plateau state.

    Magazines recovered from Likita’s possession

    He was in possession of one motorcycle and N38,500 at the time of his arrest.

    The arms dealer, Likita Abubakar was apprehended by a joint team of Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at Alushi junction in Akwanga in Nasarawa state.

    The 35-year-old man revealed that six of his colleagues were already on their way to Jos, Plateau state.

    The suspect is being detained at Akwanga Police Divisional headquarters.

    According to a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, the arrest followed actionable intelligence.

    Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, in Lafia for a thorough investigation.

    Nansel confirmed that Abubakar had been on the wanted list of the Police “for offences ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping”.
