A motorcycle operator (Okada man) has been reportedly burnt to death by a mob who falsely accused him of theft.
The victim identified as Aliyu Ya’u of Birnin Kudu town was accused of stealing a motorcycle in Babaldu village in Birnin Kudu local Government area of Jigawa State.
The incident was confirmed by the state’s Police spokesman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who explained that Aliyu was accused of stealing a Boxer Motorcycle. He was chased down and set ablaze instantly.
Adam said police investigation, however, revealed that the victim had mistaken another motorcycle for his own and taken it, leaving his own.
“As a result, the owners of the motorcycle chased the suspect down, killed and set him ablaze instantly”

He said six persons were arrested in connection with the mob action while the case has been transferred to the SCIID for discrete investigation.
