Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has expressed deep sorrow at the death of Prince Mahe AbdulKadir, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.

AbdulKadir allegedly died in the early hours of Saturday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

In a condolence letter on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State’s capital, Abiodun described the Chief of Staff’s death as heartbreaking, stressing that it is a huge loss for the Kwara State Executive Council.

He highlighted that AbdulKadir’s death is also a significant loss for his immediate family and the larger Kwara community, considering his unflinching devotion to public service.

Abiodun expressed his condolences to Governor AbdulRazaq, recognising the tremendous void left by the loss of Prince AbdulKadir.

He emphasised the late Chief of Staff’s contributions to the prosperity and development of Kwara State, saying that his efforts had an indelible impact on the state and its government.

“Prince AbdulKadir was not only a dedicated public servant but also a humble and hard-working individual whose reliability and dependability were exemplary. His commitment to the betterment of Kwara State was evident in all his undertakings,” Abiodun said.

The governor praised the late Chief of Staff, whose strategies and initiatives helped shape policies and programs that benefitted the people of Kwara State.

“His passing is a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing the moments we have with our loved ones,” Abiodun added, as he prayed to Allah to grant the deceased Al-Jannat Firdaus.
