The Lagos State Government has closed the Alaba International Market due to, among other things, inadequate trash disposal practises.
Tokunbo Wahab, the State Commissioner for Environment, early on Monday, posted this on his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle
“Alaba International Market, Ojo has been sealed up for poor waste disposal practises, failure to pay their waste bills, and gross environmental sanitation offences,” he tweeted
Alaba International Market, recognised as West Africa’s largest electronics market, also sells household appliances.

Alaba market is an international market, the Lagos state government and the traders should urgently resolve their difference.
