Maduka Zachary, popularly called “Power Zac”, a chieftain of the ruling Labour Party in Abia State, has reportedly been beheaded in his home.

The deceased was the Labour Party’s Campaign Director in the state’s 2023 elections in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area.

He was also the campaign director for Hon. Amobi Ogah, the member representing the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

The late Zachary was also the chairman of the Uturu Union’s home chapter.

According to reports, he was slain at his Uturu country home by unidentified gunmen who allegedly took his head.

The victim was a member of the local security squad battling escalating insecurity in Uturu.

The Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Ceekay Igara, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He further disclosed that he had spoken with the LP Local Government Chairman in the area, who also confirmed it to him.

“I have spoken with the chairman of our party in the LGA, and he confirmed it. He said it might not be unconnected with insecurity because the man was strong in the fight against insecurity and cultism in that region.”

According to him, the incident occurred on Tuesday night.
