The former governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for declaring June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
Fayose said President Buhari’s decision to honour the winner of the 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola is to the shame of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
“Honouring MKO Abiola by @MBuhari is to Obasanjo’s shame,” he wrote on his official Twitter page on Thursday.
Adding that, “It remains a sore-point of his political history that because of ego, Obasanjo, who’s the greatest beneficiary of the June 12, 1993 struggle failed to honour his kinsman, MKO Abiola.
“So, I commend President Buhari,” he said.

It would be recalled that on June 6, 2018, eight days after May 29, 2018 had been celebrated as Democracy Day, the President Buhari-led Federal Government of Nigeria declared June 12 to be the new Democracy Day.
Buhari would however give his inaugural address for his second term on June 12, 2019.
These were done to commemorate the democratic election of MKO Abiola on June 12, 1993, in what has been adjudged to be Nigeria’s freest and fairest elections.
It was, however, cancelled by the Ibrahim Babangida Junta.

Their is no one who does not know what is TRUE or TRUTH except they pretend as if they don’t know. You can imagine the chief principal of Buhari’s accuser in person of Fayose lauding the effort and one of the achievements of Buhari administration by declaring June 12 as democracy day. In the opposite, pointed finger of accusation specifically at chief Olusegun Obasanjo who is the greatest beneficiary of June 12,1993 election struggle and deliberately ignored to do what is needful in honouring his kinsman chief MKO Abiola, what a shameful thing.
At least he praised PMB for once.
