The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed that the item found on Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, is not a firearm.

The Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the announcement on the command’s official X page.

According to Hundeyin, the item retrieved from Adefarasin was not a firearm but a stun gun, which is a forbidden anti-riot weapon.

Adefaracin reportedly turned himself in for question after the police invited him over the alleged illegal possession of firearm.

The invitation comes after the clergy was seen in a now viral video, wielding a gun-like object.

However, the police have confirmed that the object which has been retrieved from the pastor, is a prohibited anti-riot weapon.

The post read: “Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who turned himself in today at the Lagos State Police Command over a viral video where he was seen holding a gun-like object against another road user, was interrogated, and he volunteered a cautionary statement to police investigators.

“What was recovered from him, the gun-like object seen in the viral video, is not a lethal weapon or firearm but a stun gun, which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment.”

Hundeyin further stated that the pastor has been granted bail while investigations into the incident continue.
