    Iniobong Umoren’s killer pleads guilty to murder

    Uduak Akpan, the prime suspect in the murder of Miss Iniubong Umoren, a graduate of Philosophy has pleaded guilty to her murder.

    Uduak lured the late Umoren to his residence at Nnung Ikono Obio in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State and killed her.

    According to reports, he raped her before taking her life. He eventually buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound.

    Iniobong Umoren, a fresh graduate was looking for temporary employment before going for her youth service. She announced her intentions on Twitter which Uduak capitalised on. He offered her a job at a farm in Uyo.

    Uduak contacted her and asked her to meet him in his house. Unfortunately for the suspect, Iniobong’s best friend kept tabs on her during the trip and Twitter users were able to collaborate in identifying her killer.

    Uduak who was arraigned before a State High Court judge in Uyo on Monday pleaded guilty to the murder charge but denied the allegations of rape.

    The suspect was arraigned alongside his father.
