- IGP orders posting of 86 DCPs, 206 ACPs
To strengthen and catalyse national security mechanisms towards an improved policing system across the country, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has ordered the strategic posting of 86 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and 206 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to various Zonal Commands, State Commands, and Formations across the country to deputise other senior-ranking officers in the discharge of critical administrative, investigative, and operational policing duties for an effective and citizen-led policing system nationwide.

While reiterating the Force’s leadership’s commitment to continually embark on initiatives to improve internal security in Nigeria, the IGP has charged the newly posted officers with ensuring a strategic display of experience, commitment to service, respect for fundamental rights, and the development of effective crime control strategies.
He also charged them with achieving the force’s strategic policy goals, maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, providing community-oriented public service, and adhering to the rule of law.
The Inspector-General of Police has assured the public that all efforts would be made to effectively police Nigeria and improve our internal security in accordance with the police mandate and call to duty for the welfare of our beloved country.
He reaffirmed the force’s leadership’s commitment to enhancing police services in all regions in order to fulfil modern policing principles.
