The Imo state governor, Emeka Ihedioha, yesterday, described the outcome of the governorship election tribunal which delivered judgement in his favour, as the winner of the 2019 Guber election in the state, as “no victor no vanquish.”
Ihedioha spoke in Owerri, through his Chief Press Secretary, Chibuike Onyeukwu.
He said he needed other candidates who were in court challenging his emergence to join hands with him and develop Imo state.
It stated: “Today is a very important day in the history of our Rebuild Imo project. The Nigerian Judiciary has once again demonstrated courage and much honour in the discharge of its Constitutional duty. The judgement today has reaffirmed our confidence in our judicial system
“During electioneering campaigns, I did assure our people that Imo State, under my watch, would stand firmly on the rule of law and this judgement has strengthened my resolve to be guided by this solemn promise
“I want to thank Ndi Imo for firstly electing us, and furthermore for standing by us as we strive to rebuild the State. I can assure you that we will not take your faith in us for granted.

“The work ahead of us, as a people and as an administration is a very enormous one but we will surmount the odds. We have already started laying the foundation for a quick recovery. All hands must be on deck.
“He called on all Imolites across party and opinion divides, especially his opponents in the last election and in the Tribunal to join hands with him to make Imo great.
“I, therefore, call on all Imolites across party and opinion divides, especially my opponents in the last election and in today’s tribunal sitting to join hands with us as we make Imo great again.
“For me, there is no victor, no vanquished. Governor Ihedioha cited Proverbs 21:31 which states;  A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory is of the lord. I, therefore, dedicate this victory to the Almighty God.”  Nigerian News
