Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland contestant, was allegedly dismembered by her 41-year-old husband.
The 38-year-old model was allegedly strangled and mutilated by her husband with a jigsaw and garden shears.
According to the Daily Mail, her spouse allegedly used a blender to purée her remains after she was dismembered.
The pair married in 2017 and lived in a’spacious semi-detached house’ in an upscale neighbourhood of Basel. They have two children.
Kristina’s body was discovered in February in Binningen, near Basel, Switzerland. Kristina shared photos of a ‘couple’s holiday’ on her Instagram account four weeks before her death.
Her husband, known only by the pseudonym Thomas in local media, had his plea for release from custody denied on Thursday by the Federal Court in Lausanne after admitting to killing his wife.
An ongoing inquiry has uncovered ‘clear indicators of mental disorder’ in the case. Kristina’s husband is said to have claimed he murdered her in self-defence after she allegedly attacked him with a knife, only to subsequently acknowledge he dismembered the former model.
Kristina’s body was discovered on the evening of February 13. Investigators discovered that she was strangled before dying.
The verdict stated that the man admitted to strangling his wife.
An autopsy determined that the body was dissected in the laundry room using a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears.
Body parts were then ‘pureed’ with a hand blender before being dissolved in a chemical solution, according to local source Blick.
According to Swiss broadcaster FM1 Today, a medical-forensic study “contradicts his description of self-defence.”
Thomas, a Swiss national, was reportedly detained the day after her body was discovered.
According to investigators, Thomas, a businessman, demonstrated a ‘conspicuously high level of criminal energy’ in their assessment.
They noted the defendant’s ‘lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife’, as well as his attempts to cover up her death, and claimed he exhibited sadistic-sociopathic tendencies’.
The deceased won the Miss Northwest Switzerland pageant in 2003 and made it to the finals of the 2008 Miss Switzerland competition.
