The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed that the embattled governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in their custody.
This was made known to the public in a press release signed by Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS.
Emefiele who was suspended by Tinubu, was reported to have been arrested by men of the DSS. However, the DSS refuted the reports.

The statement reads:
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this”.
