Gunmen killed nine farmers in Unguwan Danko, near Dogon Dawa village in Kaduna State’s Birnin Gwari district.
The farmers were slain on Saturday afternoon while working on their farms, according to the newsmen.
According to a source, the gunmen fled to an unknown location with three other farmers.
Yahaya Musa, member-elect of Kakangi State Constituency, also verified the tragedy, stating that all of those slain were farmers, and that those who got bullet wounds during the attack were sent to the hospital for treatment.
“Yes, it was confirmed to me on Sunday that nine farmers were killed by bandits on Saturday afternoon at Unguwar Danko near Dogon Dawa village, and others sustained gunshot injuries,” he says.
He stated that when the locals battled the robbers, some of them were injured.
The state police command’s public relations officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, promised to return with information of the event, but the state administration has not responded to the attack.
