Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has named the immediate-past Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, as his new Chief of Staff.
He takes over as Chief of Staff from Chidi Amadi.
Ehie, a close supporter of Fubara, resigned recently as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
Chronicle NG reported that the resolution signed by parties during the peace meeting held at the instance of President Bola Tinubu included the recognition of Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule as Speaker of the House.
However, there was no provision requiring Ehie to resign as a member of the House.
This is the aftermath of the crises between Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Fubara.
The two have been at odds for control of state resources and the political structure.
