Habib Salau, a senior secondary school student at Akoko Anglican Grammar School in Arigidi, Akoko North West area of Ondo State, was stabbed to death by a female colleague, Sandra, after a scuffle.
An eyewitness in Akure, the state capital, reported that the duo engaged in a scuffle after school hours.
The source added that ”it was during the fight that the suspect stabbed the deceased with a knife.
According to him, “the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Specialist Hospital, mortuary, in Ikare.
Attempts to speak with the principal of the school to remark on the student’s death were unsuccessful.
But one of the teachers who spoke with reporters described the episode as terrible.
He claimed that the incident had generated panic at the school.
When contacted, Funmi Odunlami, the state police spokeswoman, verified the unpleasant occurrence and stated that the case had been forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
Odunlami added that a police investigation would uncover the circumstances surrounding the death of the student.
