Elites Network for Sustainable Development has uncovered a constituency project nominated by Nigeria’s Senate President Bukola Saraki in 2017 that is yet to be done.
The group made up of Kwarans promoting positive engagement of the citizenry towards ensuring sustainable development, received word from the Ministry of Environment that an erosion control project was 74 percent complete but that was not the case when they visited the site.
The group found out that the project nominated by Senator Bukola Saraki who is representing Kwara Central Senatorial District was barely carried out despite receiving 70 percent of the money for the project.
Saraki who is contesting for president in 2019, nominated the project and is supposed to carry out oversight functions on the project before it is delivered to his constituents.

Findings by Elites Network revealed that the erosion control project barely happened while the whole of N70 million has been disbursed by the federal government.
“We have tracked the 70 million naira erosion control project executed by @FMEnvng and reported to be 74% completed. We can report that the project is a SCAM. @FMEnvng should return d contractor (Multinet Group Limited) to site,” the group wrote on Twitter accompanying it with a video of the site.

The group explained that, “Ansarul-Islam Flooding and Erosion Control Project in Ajikobi Ilorin was awarded to M/S MultiNet Group Limited 52 Usuma Street, Maitama, Abuja. @FMEnvng said it received 70 million naira out of 100 million appropriated and that it is @ 74% completion.”
“The supposed erosion control drainage has been submerged by erosion. The work done has caused more harm for the residents. Kwara money has been wasted,” the group said.
“The above is the current status of the Omodada Ansarul Islam flooding and erosion control project in Ajikobi ward, nominated by @bukolasaraki and executed by @FMEnvng . It is the flooded area of Abata sunkere behind Ansarul Islam Primary School that links Okekere and Ode Adana,” the group added.

Spending 70,000,000 naira on this project & saying it is 74% completed is not acceptable to us.
Contractor must come back to site to do proper work.@FMEnvng @TrackaNG @UdemeNG @bukolasaraki @OlayinkaIbrah12 @babastundey @babaidris090 @seunonigbinde @4lowthemoney @ppmonitorNG pic.twitter.com/O1YqU9WvDR
