President Bola Tinubu is welcoming his first batch of guests for the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations at the Presidential Banquet Hall, State House in Abuja.
Sunday’s meeting began at 12:16 p.m., when the president arrived at the venue.
The visitors include parliamentarians from the Federal Capital Territory in the National Assembly, FCT area council chairpersons, traditional rulers, Christian and Muslim community leaders, and senior judicial officers, among others.
Dr Timothy Amazon, Chairman of the FCT chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and Prof. SAS Galadanci, Murshid of the National Mosque, delivered the opening prayers.
According to the programme observed by our correspondent, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who led the group, would provide the opening comments, followed by the guests presenting cards to the President.
Vice President Kashim Shettima is seated, as is National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris.
