A magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit the Alaska Peninsula region on Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), prompting a tsunami warning for adjacent areas.
The magnitude of the quake was reduced from 7.4 to 32.6 km (20.3 miles) from an original 9.3 km, according to the USGS.
The US Tsunami Warning System issued a tsunami warning for South Alaska, the Alaska Peninsula, and other Pacific areas.
