The Department of State Services (DSS) has freed the ‘Buhari-Must-Go’ agitators apprehended at the Dunamis Church headquarters in Abuja.

The five protesters – Ben Manasseh, Anene Udoka, Henry Nwodo, Samuel Larry and Samuel Gabriel (the saxophonist) — were apprehended by the DSS on July 4, for wearing shirts with Buhari-Must-Go inscriptions to the church premises.

The Federal High Court in Abuja on July 25 directed the DSS to free the agitators.

Founder of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowere also confirmed the latest development adding that they were released on Tuesday night.

It would be recalled that Chronicle NG reported that the protesters were arrested during a Sunday church service.

Reacting to their arrest at the time, Sowore claimed the ten youths, believed to be first time worshippers, were invited for prayer and proceeded to the altar with the #BuhariMustGo shirts.

They were subsequently apprehended by the church’s security men.

Sowore said: “About 10 activists decided to attend Dunamis church in their #BuhariMustGo T-shirts. The church asked all first-timers to come out for prayers,” he said.

“The patriotic citizens obeyed the clarion call from the altar with their fully displayed BuhariMustGo shirt. They were immediately apprehended by the church security on their way out of the church and subsequently handed to the DSS.”
