Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a wanted drug dealer while he was worshiping in his local church.
The suspect, Stephen Afam Ikeanyionwu, was wanted for attempting to export 69.65 kilograms of cocaine, heroin and cannabis to the United Kingdom (UK).
According to the NDLEA, Stephen tried to smuggle the banned substances through (National Aviation Handling Company) NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos.
The consignment was intercepted by NDLEA operatives on Thursday, 12th August, 2021 after which the driver of the goods was apprehended.
The driver’s confession revealed the identity of the actual owner of the consignment, Stephen.
Ikeanyionwu was then trailed to a popular Pentecostal church at Mike Ajari street, Ojodu Berger.
He was apprehended as soon as he stepped out of the church service.
