A DHL cargo plane crashed near the Vilnius International Airport on November 25, 2024, killing one person, according to firefighters.
“The plane was due to land at Vilnius airport and crashed a few kilometres away,” Renatas Pozela, the head of the firefighting and emergency services unit, said, adding that one person in the four-member crew died.
The National Crisis Management Centre’s head, Vilmantas Vitkauskas, confirmed that everyone inside the house was evacuated after a house caught fire during the crash, the cause of which is unknown.
An official of DHL, Ausra Rutkauskien, confirmed the plane belonged to the company.
